How can I know I'm Saved?  |  Am I Baptized in the Holy Ghost?
Do I need to go to church, what is it's purpose for me?
Why does the church and it's Preachers always
seem to mention money?

How can I know I'm Saved?

I believe a good place to start is the book of Romans 10, verse 9.  "That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved."

Notice the two very important facts of that verse, the 1st being confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus.

Romans 3:23 states "we all have sinned" that being the case we all need a Saviour his name is Jesus wow everyone wants a Jesus a Saviour to reach down and pull you out or thru every problem, but wait.  Paul includes guidance in our confession not just confessing Jesus for help but for guidance in the title of Lord, many don't want a Lord, in confessing a Lord you lose your will to His Will!

The second part of this verse, He Jesus raised from the dead.  Look at Romans 6:1-14, read these verses if you confess His resurrection, you will celebrate yours!  Verse 8 states "if we be dead with Chris, we believe that we shall also live with him."
Verse 11, "Likewise reckon ye yourselves to
Verse 12 "Let not" don't allow sin to govern your mortal body.
Verse 13, "Neither yield" giving in to destructive opposing forces.

Can you know you are saved?  I guess the best rule don't compare yourselves with church members, they will do what their church allows but rather with Christians they will do what Jesus Christ allows.

Remember, good works never produces Salvation, but also remember true Salvation always produces good work!

A Good Rule:  Church members may not always be Christians (Christ-like) ... Christians will always be church members (part of His body)

Am I baptized in the Holy Ghost?

Chances are if you asked that question you're not, but for sake of learning we will go to a very important issue knowing what baptism of the Holy Ghost was for according to the Bible.
Never was it a condition to go to Heaven or a condition for Salvation (I know this will draw Pentecostal criticism, but what's new.)

It would do us a great justice to study carefully the 8th Chapter of Acts.  Read it especially if you have been mis-informed and told everybody you have been Baptized in the Holy Ghost when you were saved.

Notice in Acts 8 verse 5, Phillip went and preached Christ unto them.  Also very important in verse 12, it says (in the Bible) they believed, were baptized both men and women in the name of Jesus (had to be water baptism) because in verse 14 & 15, Peter and John, apostles over the order of the church went to Samaria, prayed for them (them being water baptized believers, who had seen miracles and signs who had continued with Phillips ministry verse 13) "that they might receive the Holy Ghost:" And to properly focus on this great truth, they laid hands on them (Salvation never comes by the laying on of hands) they received the Holy Ghost.  Something happened because verse 18 says "Simon saw" using the Bible, God's inspired Word to man.  It's impossible to teach that you get baptized in the Holy Ghost at Salvation, at Salvation men and women's hearts are convicted by God's Holy Spirit.  You receive the Holy Spirit with measure to save us from Hell's grip and give us eternal life in Heaven.  At the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, we are according to Acts 1:8 to receive the power (ability) to be witness unto Him in this earth.

Study it out in your Bible, when saints are baptized in the Holy Ghost there is a manifestation, the principle one being speaking in tongues.

Do I need to go to church, what is it's purpose for me?

As we stated in the answer on "How do we know we're saved" true born-again Christians have a hunger to assemble themselves together.  Read Hebrews 10:25  "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together."  The church is on this earth to be a witness unto the saving power of Jesus and to show His love, compassion reach a lost hell-bound world with the good news therefore the church needs you.  But also you need the church!  Look at Ephesians Chapter 4 what should be found in your church, verse 11 states gifts imparted to operate in the body apostles, prophets, evangelists, Pastors and teachers we call this the five-fold ministry, it would take pages to explain these offices but for the believer two verses of scripture explains their purpose it states in Ephesians 4:11, that God gifts believers (some) with certain ministries, what is their purpose for me?

Ephesians 4:12, "For the perfecting (other translations use words completing, maturing, equipping of the saints at this point we must realize if we hunger to be complete, mature, equipped, perfected we need to be exposed to those those by God to do so.  The preaching of the cross makes saints, the ministry of the church completes them!

We are being raised up to do the Ephesians 4:12 "the work of the ministry."  So that the body of Christ (church) will be edified and of course verse 13 puts a time of expiration on these gifts:

Ephesians 4:13 "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God:  unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

If you continue reading, verse 14 explains a little closer what we remain without the church and the five-fold ministry, Thank God for churches that have in operation the five-fold ministry to help us on this earth.

Why does the church and it's Preachers always seem to mention money?

If you are attending church services and the ministry is not teaching you the principle of giving (not necessary every service) they are hindering you from receiving all that God has purposed for your life.

In the book of Malachi the third chapter covers in great detail the curse and blessing of tithes and offering.  Look very carefully at these ten precious promises of blessing brought by your obedience:

(1) Malachi 3:7 "I will return unto you saith the Lord of host"

(2) Malachi 3:9 Defines a problem brought by lack of obedience.  "Ye are cursed with a curse"

(3) Malachi 3:10  Strength (meat) in storehouse "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house,"

(4) Malachi 3:10 the right to TEST God's Word "and prove (test) me now herewith said the Lord of hosts,"

(5) Malachi 3:10 an open Heaven  "if I (the Lord) will not open the windows of Heaven."

(6) Malachi 3:10 out-pouring "and pour you out a blessing"

(7) Malachi 3:10 unexpected amounts "there shall not be room enough to receive it."

(8) Malachi 3:11 devoured stopped "And I (the Lord) will rebuke the devourer for your sakes."

(9) Malachi 3:11 property content insurance "and He (devourer) shall not destroy the fruits of your ground."

(10) Malachi 3:11 alignment of your seasons "neither shall your vice cast her fruit before the time in the field."

It would certainly be a sad message to preach that God didn't bring return to those who planted seed in His Kingdom, needless to say when you pray for dis-obedient people to be blessed, you are asking God to break the ten promises of Malachi chapter 3, remember we are blessed not because we handed God a need, but because we handed God a seed!

"And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not:
and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said,
For now the LORD hath made room for us,
and we shall be fruitful in the land."  Genesis 26:22
